Restless Searching
A man who is a great inspiration to me once said: "Hope is not something you can just place in your back pocket or put your fingers around - it's a the belief in a world that has yet to exist" (Jonathan Foreman). I've always admired this definition of hope, the idea that hope is out there, but that takes a little searching in order to obtain. I am still searching for that hope in this twisted and broken world, and often when I think of International Studies, I think of the problems that are present in our world, some hidden and some plainly displayed. The purpose and intent of this website to continue the search for meaning, sanity and hope in this universe.
Similarly, Foreman again wrote "I am restless. I run like the ocean to find your shore. I'm looking for you." I feel restless trying to find these answers, the answers to why people on the other side of the globe are living in conditions that seem almost unimaginable. Why conflict rages on, even though we have the power to stop it. That is why I have titled my website ‘Restless musings’ because I am constantly, restlessly searching to find these answers and solutions. Admittedly, I most often just end up with more questions that I had before, but that is all part of the journey in learning.
I have posted a couple different tabs that reflect who I am in this search, things about me, my blog where I like to talk about international issues that have been discussed in class or I have come across in the news and so forth. I also included some videos, book reflections and links to topics related to international studies.Additionally, I included a tab of photographs because I like to chronicle my life and traveling adventures through pictures.
